Main Street Project

The Lethbridge Main Street Project is a partnership between the Provincial Government (Alberta Main Street Program), the City of Lethbridge and he Downtown Lethbridge Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ). The program uses a four-point proven approach that contributes to successful long-term preservation; organization, marketing, design and economic development.

Since the inception of the project in 2000, numerous building and business owners have taken advantage of the funding and design assistance offered through the Lethbridge Main Street Project office. Over $825,000 has been invested by property owners in fa├žade rehabilitation and signage projects and $2.5 million on interior renovations, restorations and adaptive re-use of historic buildings.

The program offers a flexible, community-driven process that preserves the heritage value of historic downtowns and promotes vibrant, sustainable communities.
