Thu MAY 01 Preservation of Moving Images Before digital, fleeting family moments were captured on film or video tape. How can this treasured footage be saved and used today? Professional videographer Chris Oates will advise you on how to preserve and manage your collection, including storage, formats, transfer to digital, and more.


Thu JUN 12 Oral Histories The Galt Archives collection of oral histories has recently been digitized and supplied with finding aids. Oral histories are treasure chests of stories that have never been written down! They’re voices of people – women, farmers, miners, and minorities. An excellent resource for local history research!

Thu JUL 10 Basics of Family History Research Many people would like to research their family history but don’t know how to start. Susan Haga, Acting President of the Alberta Genealogical Society and Vice President of Lethbridge Branch of AGS, will give you a primer on how to get your project off the ground, find resources, organize materials, and keep you motivated.

Thu AUG 07 Just Scan It Scanning your family photos is an effective way of preserving them. Digital images easy to copy and share with your loved ones! Come learn how to scan photographic prints, negatives and slides and store them digitally long term. Basic computer skills required.
