Red Bag is open for business in Lethbridge!

Owned by mother-son duo Angela Piovesana & Derek Adduono, Red Bag is a great new addition to the downtown. They specialize in handmade, fair trade clothing, accessories and other miscellaneous goods from Nepal and Thailand.  The new store in Lethbridge is the third store they have opened, having started in High River over 5 years ago. They also have a store in Penticton, but are excited to share what they have found all over the world with Southern Alberta.

Red Bag offers a diverse line-up of ethically traded cotton, viscos and wool clothing for men, women and children. From colourful and creative t-shirts, to warm wool sweaters and everything in between. They have a fantastic selection of wool accessories to keep you warm as well, such as toques, hand warmers, mitts and socks (which many people wear as slippers around their house).

They also offer unique yak leather purses and monk bags, along with stone jewelry such as bracelets and rings. In addition to the distinctive accessories, you’ll find prayer flags, resin statues and hand-rolled incense in a variety of great scents.

Customers of Red Bag can feel good wearing their items because Derek and Angela work closely with the artisans who produce them. They strive to build long lasting relationships with them and ensure good working conditions.

Red Bag has been open since November, with their official grand opening occurring in conjunction with Plaid Days on Dec 7th, 2013. If you haven’t stopped by for a visit yet, the weather is great for doing so. Red Bag is located at 613 4th Ave South, right across the alley from the old Bargain Shop.
