For Throwback Thursday take some to explore the history of Lethbridge. In downtown there is the Galt Museum & Archives which is located at 502 1 Street South. The Galt has a wide variety of different mediums to observe the array of history that formed Lethbridge. The different tours that you can participate in include Mountain View Cemetery, St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Remembering Lethbridge’s Chinatown, Stafford Bottom, and Watch Lethbridge Grow! Besides tours there are on-going exhibits that the Galt prepares for a few months at a time for visitors to walk through. Some of the current exhibitions are Buzzworthy: Beekeeping in Southwestern Alberta, Lethbridge Eats: Cafes to Corner Stores, Enclosing Some Snapshots: The Photography of Metis Activist James Brady, and Mayors of Lethbridge. The Galt also has a replica of a fur trading fort called Fort Whoop-Up that was established in the 1800s and they tell the stories of what happened over that time. There is much to explore at the Galt Museum & Archives so for throwback Thursday make sure to stop by and learn a little bit more about the history of this fantastic city.
