Bright Lights Festival is just around the corner…​

The 13th Annual Bright Lights Festival will kick off the holiday shopping season in downtown Lethbridge on Friday, November 22nd . The evening will begin with Victorian-esque carolers in the pergola area of Galt Gardens around 5:30 p.m. Activities will be in full swing once Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m. Local downtown businesses have come together to offer free traditional hayrides, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, coffee and popcorn. And what goes better with popcorn than movies in the park! A variety of classic Christmas movies will be shown from approximately 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the pergola area of Galt Gardens. The London Road Neighborhood Association (LNRA) who will also be on hand to sell hot dogs, hamburgers and to take donations for the Lethbridge Shelter & Resource Centre Soup Kitchen. Midnight Madness will take place the same night as Bright Lights Festival with participating downtown businesses staying open late to offer Midnight Madness Specials! Remember to ‘Shop Local’ during the holiday season. 
     
In conjunction with the Bright Lights Festival, a fundraiser to restore Chinatown’s heritage buildings - ‘Save Lethbridge’s Chinatown’, is taking place that night in addition to the Made Show + Sale event. The fundraiser will take place from 5-10 p.m. in the Free Masons Building just two doors down from the Bow On Tong. Unique merchandise and cultural trinkets will be priced to sell with all proceeds going towards continued work on the Bow On Tong and Manie Opera House buildings in our historic Chinatown. The Made Show + Sale will take place at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG) from 5-10 p.m. as well. Local artists and designers will be selling hand-made, one-of-a-kind items such as clothing, jewelry, crafts, treats and much more. Support your local artisans and find that special gift for yourself or loved ones.
