EXHIBIT OPENING Wind Work, Wind Play: Weathervanes & Whirligigs

Tom McFall, Executive Director of the Alberta Craft Council, has a special connection to prairie folk craft.  He remembers the weathervane on his grandparents’ ranch in southern Alberta as a reliable weather broadcaster and equates whirligigs as a male equivalent to predominately female-made quilts. Join Tom McFall and Curator Wendy Aitkens for conversation and story sharing. Be sure to bring your stories (and photos) about favourite hand-made weathervanes and whirligigs!

Followed by the official opening of the new exhibit.
