Oktober is Right Around the Corner!

With the great success of the World Cup festivities in July at downtown Lethbridge's Festival Square, John and Roy Pogorzelski thought what's next?

Creating an Oktoberfest event has been talked about many times over the years. 2014 will finally be the year that the downtown will celebrate and take part in the German festivities.

This two day Munich-themed festival will feature dancing, music, pretzels, sauerkraut and of course German beer!

The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association (SAEA) will be hosting Oktoberfest in Festival square on October 3rd - 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. and October 4th 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. The Downtown BRZ, the City of Lethbridge's Heart of our City Initiative, the Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism & Discrimination (CMARD) and Telepgraph Taphouse have all come aboard as supporters of Oktoberfest.

This festival appeals to not only beer enthusiasts, but it's an event for those looking to expose their families to a diverse cultural experience. Entry is 100% free and children are welcomed!
