The Curator Presents… Frances Schultz: Warp and Weft in Lethbridge From an Historical Perspective

Frances Schultz, a continuous member of the Lethbridge Handicraft Guild (LHG) since 1970, provides a brief history of the LHG and its contribution to the arts and crafts revival.

Frances Schultz has held numerous executive positions on the LHG, as well as on the Hand Weavers and Spinners of Alberta (HWSDA). Her interests encompass weaving, designing, quilting, dyeing, and surface design techniques with a special emphasis on the study of colour. Schultz, who holds a Bachelor of Education, has attended international and provincial conferences and workshops, and taught workshops locally, provincially, and at HWSDA Conferences.  Her work has been shown at provincial and international weaving shows.

Followed by the official opening of the new exhibit, Woven in Time: Celebrating 65 Years with Lethbridge Weavers [JUN 07 – SEP 01, 2014], developed in partnership with Lethbridge Handicraft Guild of Weavers.
